Program Description:
Macquarie University’s Field Acquired Information Management Systems (FAIMS) Project provides eResearch and data science support to a range of fieldwork-based research projects in archaeology, epigraphy, history, geoscience, and ecology. This Data Science Camp will train students in current good practice for research data management and analysis, then provide them with the opportunity to apply those skills to improve real datasets. They will take problematic data and produce well-documented, reusable datasets ready for deposit in a data archive. Participants will also perform reproducible analyses and visualisations on this data and make the resulting code available for reuse.
